Two posts in one day! What's going on?? Well, I wanted to get back into the Food Waste Friday game hosted by The Frugal Girl, but I also wanted to do Show Us Your Life hosted by Kelly! Since both are Friday blog hops (I think that's what they're called?) I have two posts for you today. Hope you don't mind!
If we're being perfectly honest, I haven't had a food waste post in forever because I haven't been very good about not wasting food. I'm trying very hard to stick with being careful and not wasteful, however, along with sticking to my grocery budget.
This week was rough though. I don't have any pictures (you probably should be thankful for that!) but I do have plenty to tell you about.
First, I threw away a small cup of homemade chicken soup. This was from a while back when we got a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and made soup with it. I found a small bone in my bowl one day and just couldn't bring myself to eat the last bowl!
We also discarded some grapes that had been left out. There may have been a few good ones in there but Geoff has an aversion to mold and just threw the whole bag out without my checking it! Oh well.
I hated this waste. It was an almost full package of strawberries. This was completely my fault because they weren't that great when I bought them, then after sitting a few days in the fridge they only got worse. Sigh. This time when I bought strawberries I looked very closely at them. At least the ones I threw out were on sale!
I think that's all my waste from this week (which, believe me, is plenty!!) Here's hoping for a better week next week!

I'm a 27 year old, newly married, newly living in Washington, librarian trying to find a job in a library. Meanwhile I'm working as a office assistant while I figure out how to live my new life as a wife.
Geoff, my wonderful, caring husband works with computers and, in his free time, plays with video games, lounges on the couch and cooks with sourdough.
Clarabelle and Hermione are our babies! Hermione, who came to Megg as a kitten, loves playing with fur mice and bottle caps. Clarabelle's hobbies include sleeping, lying in the sun and playing with straws.
Geoff and Megg met through a mutual friend and spent 4 years dating long distance. They were finally able to live in the same zipcode after what seemed like forever when they got married on January 2, 2010! Soon after they bought a house and have been enjoying the Pacific Northwest together while being both newlyweds and new homeowners!
