I grew this pumpkin. What, what?
I absolutely love my living room. It's the perfect stuffy living room that no one ever uses (which isn't entirely true, but that was the look I was going for. It's exactly what I wanted, and I love that it looks so put together and neat most of the time.
I've been dying to get a couple frames up on the wall for a while, with wedding pictures of Geoff and I. I originally wanted one large frame with two smaller (8x10) frames along side it, but decided against it for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons why I didn't get anything up until now, however, is that 8x10 frames are expensive! The cheapest, and not very nice looking I could find were $15-$20, and I wasn't about to spend $40+ on a couple frames. Until I saw these bad boys at my thrift store.
Saying our vows
Love this one of the wedding party!
As an aside, do you know how difficult it is to take a picture of a picture?
Anyway, when I saw these frames for $4.99 each, I knew I'd regret it if I didn't get them. Normally I like my frames to be around the .99 cent mark, but considering these were a. in near perfect condition b. the 8x10 size I wanted and c. matching, I knew they were coming home with me.
Perfect.
I'd also like to point out that the majority of this room is furnished from Craigslist or Freecycle. The chaire are from Freecycle, the coffee table is from Craigslist, and the end table was also a Craigslist find. The pictures hanging on the frame in the left hand side was a project inspired by a Freecycle frame. Oh, and the awesome orange phone in the first picture? That was inherited from Geoff's grandmother. He was thrilled when I brought it home. Obviously.
I think it's a room The Non Consumer Advocate would be proud of, and I definitely am!

I'm a 27 year old, newly married, newly living in Washington, librarian trying to find a job in a library. Meanwhile I'm working as a office assistant while I figure out how to live my new life as a wife.
Geoff, my wonderful, caring husband works with computers and, in his free time, plays with video games, lounges on the couch and cooks with sourdough.
Clarabelle and Hermione are our babies! Hermione, who came to Megg as a kitten, loves playing with fur mice and bottle caps. Clarabelle's hobbies include sleeping, lying in the sun and playing with straws.
Geoff and Megg met through a mutual friend and spent 4 years dating long distance. They were finally able to live in the same zipcode after what seemed like forever when they got married on January 2, 2010! Soon after they bought a house and have been enjoying the Pacific Northwest together while being both newlyweds and new homeowners!
